About

Free study plans, curated resources, past papers and advice for Nepali students preparing for the Physics Olympiad.

Who we are

This is a free, open, community-maintained resource website for Nepali students preparing for the Physics Olympiad. We are a group of past and current participants and teachers who want the path to be clearer for everyone, especially those studying in small towns with slow internet and limited library access.

The site is not affiliated with any organising committee. All statements about rules, dates, eligibility or results are marked “[TO VERIFY]” until confirmed from an official source.

How to contribute

Because all content lives in the repository, the easiest way to help is to submit a Pull Request on GitHub:

  1. Fork the repository and edit the appropriate file under /content.
  2. For the syllabus, edit content/syllabus.json.
  3. For new resources, edit content/resources/resources.json.
  4. For past papers, edit content/past-papers.json and add the PDF under public/past-papers/.
  5. For roadmap changes, edit content/stages/stages.json.
  6. For blog posts, create a new .mdx file in content/stories/.
  7. Keep all unconfirmed facts clearly marked [TO VERIFY].

If you cannot use GitHub, post your suggestion in any of the community groups linked below.

Contribute a past paper

Missing years are listed on the Past Papers page. If you have an official NePhO paper that we do not host yet, please add it through a pull request:

  1. Use only a paper published by the Nepal Physical Society, or a copy you have permission to share.
  2. Name the PDF nepho-pre-selection-<year>.pdf and place it in public/past-papers/pre-selection/.
  3. Add a matching entry to content/past-papers.json with the title, year, source, and file path.
  4. Keep hasSolutions false unless an official solution file is also available.
  5. Run npm run lint and npm run build before opening the pull request.

If sharing permission is unclear, set hostPapersLocally to false in content/past-papers.json so visitors are sent to the official NPS site instead.
